Now in its third year, Sacramento Favorites continues to celebrate the people, places, and businesses that make our region such an extraordinary place to live, work, and explore.

Sacramento, known for its vibrant neighborhoods, rich history, and proximity to both the mountains and the coast, offers a unique blend of small-town charm and urban sophistication. From its celebrated farm-to-fork dining scene and thriving arts community to its endless outdoor adventures and deep cultural roots, Sacramento shines as a city that beautifully balances tradition and innovation.​
That’s why The Sacramento Bee created Sacramento Favorites — to honor the businesses and individuals that are the heart of our community. This program highlights local excellence and encourages residents to connect with and support the places that define Sacramento’s unique character.

This year, participation reached new heights. Over 4,700 businesses, organizations, and individuals competed for the top three spots across 282 categories, with the community casting more than 275,000 votes — a 117% increase year-over-year. The incredible response underscores the pride Sacramentans have in their local favorites and the strength of the region’s entrepreneurial spirit.

A contest of this scale takes teamwork — from our dedicated local staff and the commitment of participating businesses to the generous support of our advertisers. Together, they make this celebration possible.
